How the VPN works
It isn’t a normal VPN. It’s deliberately the opposite: as narrow as a tunnel can be. We never send requests on your behalf and never touch the game servers ourselves; we only read your own garage sync as it passes through your device.
- Only Top Drives’ server is routed. The profile scopes the tunnel to the game’s own
server (
www.topdrives.io) plus the tunnel’s private status address (10.7.0.1), which exists only inside the tunnel and lets this page tell you when you’re connected. Nothing else ever enters it. - No other traffic is diverted. Browsing, messages and every other app use your normal connection, tunnel on or off. None of it passes through us, so there is nothing for us to see.
- We only listen. Game traffic passes through on its way to Top Drives exactly as the game sent it. We never modify it and never send requests of our own. The certificate is what lets us read your (encrypted) garage sync as it goes by.
- The scope lives on your device. It is baked into the profile you install, so we can’t widen it remotely. Changing it would mean you installing a new profile.
- What we keep: your hutchId and your garage contents. Not your password, and not any other app’s traffic.
Setup on iPhone / iPad
Two separate trust steps are required (3 and 4); neither works without the other. It takes about two minutes, once.
- Install the free WireGuard app from the App Store. The tunnel in your profile runs through it.
- Sign in with W43 on this device, then tap Download VPN profile on the page that follows. Tap Allow when Safari asks to download a configuration profile.
- Install the profile: open Settings and tap Profile Downloaded right at the top (or go to Settings ▸ General ▸ VPN & Device Management) → tap Top Drives Garage Viewer → Install (enter your passcode).
- Trust the certificate: Settings ▸ General ▸

Mandatory: installing the profile alone is not enough. - Capture: toggle the tunnel ON (in the WireGuard app or Settings ▸ VPN), force-quit Top Drives (swipe it away), reopen it, and wait for your garage to load.
- Done: open td.w43.nl and your garage is there. You can leave the tunnel on: it only handles Top Drives data and doesn't affect anything else, so each time you play, your garage refreshes. Prefer to toggle it off? Turn it back on and reopen the game whenever you want a fresh snapshot.
